At BBDiet, we have been working to improve the health of people with Type 2 Diabetes for many years - so we know what works. 

Our Type 2 Diabetes Group Education Program is designed to equip our patients with the knowledge, confidence and tools to help manage their diabetes. Our program is open to all people diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes.

Proven, Science-Based Program

This diabetes program is a proven, science-based program designed by Accredited Practising Dietitian, Credentialled Diabetes Educator and Accredited Exercise Physiologist to help you prevent, manage or reverse Diabetes. 

Get Support from Dietitian, Diabetes Educator and Exercise Physiologist

You get to ask questions directly to the presenter - BBDiet Dietitian, Diabetes Educator and Exercise Physiologist during the group sessions. You will receive direct support from them throughout the program. 

Get Peer Support from Other Participants

You will get to know other participants who have similar experience or struggles as you and each of you will have the opportunity to share tips and personal experiences on how to better manage diabetes.

Be Well-Educated on How to Manage and Reverse Type 2 Diabetes

You will be participating up to 8 group education sessions that cover various topics on how to better manage and even reverse type 2 diabetes.

Set Realistic Goals for Weight Loss 

This group program will be carried out once a week or once a fortnight for 3 months. All participants will be required to set realistic goals for weight loss. You will learn how to lose weight through healthy eating. Weight loss of 5% to 7% of body weight and 150 minutes of physical activity per week led to the results documented in the research studies.   

Get The Right Tools on How to Self-Monitor Blood Sugar

You will be taught which tools to use to better monitor your blood sugar levels on your own.

Making healthy food choices and monitoring blood sugar levels on your own can be a challenge. Attending the group sessions can help you enhance your health with confidence. 

 Join us for the exciting and informative diabetes group sessions that are specially designed to build your confidence to get down your blood sugar levels naturally.

A total of 8 fun, practical Group Sessions (1 hour) that consists of presentations of a dietitian, diabetes educator and exercise physiologist respectively and group discussions.

Practical tips on how to improve your blood sugar levels.

A comprehensive presentation handouts and other nutrition resources for diabetes management.

 

Self-monitoring tools for diabetes management.

How To Participate in The Program?

To be eligible for the program you must have been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes.

Visit your doctor and ask for a referral to a – “Group Allied Health Services under Medicare for patients with type 2 diabetes.”

Please feel free to print the referral form and take it to your GP which outlines the referral process.

Once the form has been completed, ask your GP to email it to us at angeline@bbdiet.com.au. We will then make contact with you to arrange for the group sessions.

Investment of Your Health

$399 for the whole 8 session program ($49.90 per session) or $60 for each session.
You can pay on your first day of group program. Only cash or bank transfer accepted.

The Group Program consists of a total of 8 sessions.
The number of participants are kept small to maximise benefits. 

 The program structure is flexible depending on patient’s requirements, which is established after the initial assessment. However the standard program will run as follows – 


Week 1: 30 minute Initial assessment - One-on-one session with Dietitian/Diabetes Educator/Exercise Physiologist (Value $120)

Week 2: 1 hour group education session with the Dietitian/Diabetes Educator/Exercise Physiologist     

Week 3: 1 hour group education session with the Dietitian/Diabetes Educator/Exercise Physiologist 

​​Week 4: 1 hour group education session with the Dietitian/Diabetes Educator/Exercise Physiologist   

Week 5: 1 hour group education session with the Dietitian/Diabetes Educator/Exercise Physiologist      

Week 6: 1 hour group education session with the Dietitian/Diabetes Educator/Exercise Physiologist   

Week 7: 1 hour group education session with the Dietitian/Diabetes Educator/Exercise Physiologist   

Week 8: 1 hour group education session with the Dietitian/Diabetes Educator/Exercise Physiologist   

Week 9: 1 hour group completion session with the Dietitian/Diabetes Educator/Exercise Physiologist
